Well that’s a revelation to know. But enough about Forrest Gump.

Thus my post that if he’s so affronted by this trifle of a fart of a film, he might want to avoid whole decades. I really don’t recommend a film like “Fight for your Life” as an example.

Sure. It’ll be after your Ted talks on being a pompous ass who thinks all art is problematic unless viewed ONLY through the current prism of contemporary thought. You can lecture on how Beethoven was a d-bag and Chuck Berry needs to be forgotten.

Don’t go back to the 70's and 80's then, cause you’re gonna be pretty fucking traumatized.

As a warning to what, exactly?

Come now, weren’t you alive in the 80's? It was ALWAYS the Russians, those Godless commie bastards.

Maybe a little “Commando” magic fixed it up...

As you can tell, you didn’t miss a thing. Man was New Coke an abomination. I seriously think it was worse than Crystal Pepsi.

I loved Jolt Cola back in the day (and probably still do) but god was New Coke fucking terrible back then. I remember hoarding ‘Classic’ Coke...

Exactly. My dad went through a phase like that as well and believe me, there were a ton of schlubby middle aged Magnum PI wannabes.

I have three daughters and my first thought when reading the OP was...are you fucking kidding? Followed by clearly he has no daughters.

Love that film. Plus it has the blond sister from Night of the Comet, the guy from Deathstalker II and the All Nighter, and others...

Repo Man was so huge to me as a kid in the 80's. That soundtrack alone...

I didn’t know that. I’m a NYR fan myself and I worked for the Dolan’s during that terrible stretch and went to a LOT of games. Folks back then were enraged at both Sather and Dolan, and you’d hear “Fire Sather” as much as you’d hear “Potvin Sucks” back then.

Obligatory

As a huge Matt Berry fan going back to my introduction to him in Garth Marenghi’s Dark Place, I’m in. Even with “Gurls” in it!

I genuinely love that film a lot, mainly through multiple viewings on a SLP tape that had Repo Man, Night of the Comet and Massacre at Central High all taped off late night cable.

A very under-rated film from that year. I was a huge fan as a kid.

I have to admit that sounds pretty good. I’m looking forward to watching it
