Awwww, did a big mean blog article hurt your feelings? Glad you found a reason not to do something simple and quick that could save your fellow humans.
He’s also the all time runs leader for the Mariners but that’s not exactly a tall feat.
Football is fun to watch on TV and all, but it comes off like the absolute worst to be a participant, especially for kids who are supposed to be learning and shit, because you’re basically trying to execute a bunch of predetermined, choreographed moves and at least 80% of all decision making is ceded to the coaching…
I know I used the word “sociopathic”, but the more I think about it, the less right it feels, because he does think about the context and his friends/acquaintances, and he’s only doing El Cap because he knows he can.
I think what they, especially his girlfriend, were trying to say without saying it is Honnold is on the autism spectrum.
I’ve tried putting this into context. I do some gym climbing and I’m in moderately decent shape, but the most difficult climbs I’ve done indoors, with top rope, are 5.11b, and if I’m doing 5.11b, I’m probably falling off the wall a couple of times, and after one 40-foot climb, I’m pooped.
Caught this last weekend, and yeah, as much as I was mesmerized by the feat, the process and the images (dude, when the camera pulls out at the end to show El Cap in its entirety, holy crap), I came away thinking something ain’t right with Alex.
Deep cut there.
It’s not so much that players don’t move around, but that teams will put blue chip talent at full back if they have the skill sets, and Spurs clearly took the left back position seriously enough that they’d put a generational, Galactico-level talent there. My point is more that while the full back is an afterthought…

Man, if I coached an elite youth soccer team, I’d put my two best players at full back so they can spend all day swashbuckling up and down the flanks and whipping in crosses. But then, running a travel team seems like you can’t do anything besides practice and spend weekends going to tournaments.
To be fair, EVERY USWNT fullback is a converted forward, and I’m not just talking about the current ones (O’Hara, Kling, Krieger, Huerta, Taylor Smith, Short, etc etc), but going back to Chastain.
It’s good, but then, Brazil is trash, regardless of their world ranking, and Japan is overhauling its team.
Or, we can be generous and say we really won’t know how good this team is until the 2019 SheBelieves Cup, when they’ll play teams that are getting primed for the World Cup.
I beg to differ. Mahrez’s penalty traveled a greater distance.
So between now and the next international break, Man U plays Chelsea, Juventus twice, Man City and a couple of decent mid table teams (Everton and Bournemouth).
And, no, they shouldn’t get their money replaced. That would teach them a lesson.
Stormy Daniels is apparently crowdfunding her legal fees, and she’s been charging more for her appearances since she got famous.
FWIW, major media outlets don’t pay for stories (Deadspin and National Enquirer do!).
