She’s been beating the drum on disparity in conditions between men and women for years (which I think is a good, worthy cause!), but it being her pet issue, she’s exaggerated stuff in the past.

Washington Spirit doesn’t play in Washington.
20 years of MLS showed that while you can get soccer moms and dads to bring their soccer kids to games for a few games each year, urban, adult fans tend to be more sustainable as turnstile pushers.
While I don’t doubt that facilities are subpar, Hope Solo isn’t exactly the most reliable narrator on the topic of training and gameday facilities.
Also they play in Piscataway Twp, which is okay if you want local soccer kids riding in on their moms’ minivans, but not exactly the ideal urban, transit friendly locations that are better suited to building a sustainable fanbase that can pack a stadium even when Alex Morgan isn’t visiting.
I get the feeling that US Soccer is apathetic because they’re hoping that if Sky Blue collapses, City Football Group will fill the void with a New York women’s team.

Semi-not-really-seriously considering moving from the DC area to Denver. I like the outdoors, not being stuck in traffic, so there’s that.
The USWNT roster management has always been mystifying, but the Carli Lloyd situation is especially dumb.
The one where the defense watched Alex Morgan run by unchecked was nice.
Fair point.
Sure, but it seems far wiser to draw conclusions about USWNT’s relative strength against the other elites based on the Australia match than the Brazil match.
I’m guessing the combination of size and athleticism is hard to find, especially in countries that don’t produce a lot of large people (Brazil and Japan come to mind).
Counterpoint: Brazil sucks at soccer and the US won’t have it that easy against better teams like France and Germany.
My sense is that Dunn is a victim of her own versatility. She can basically play forward, midfield or fullback, so a coach would rather have specialists playing their positions and have someone like Dunn available to fill in wherever.
