I kind of figured this was why the Versa was so high on the list..
I kind of figured this was why the Versa was so high on the list..
I got my license almost a decade later than you, and a Mirage looks pretty safe compared to the Dodge Omni I started in.. (I miss that little shitbox)
No, the 'Stang only goes after the driver as a last resort. I assume they didn't count innocent bystanders..
The articles you describe are scare tactic nonsense. I bet compared to a Beetle, or even a mid ‘80s Honda we’d find rather a small margin between the Mirage and “the safest car in America”..
I agree, though rather than disappear, I expect Tesla to get bought out by/merge with a mainline manufacturer where the mainline gets some much needed bev tech and Tesla gets things like a dealership network in North America.
On top of that, it started as a Jeep Wrangler, arguably one of the most expensive used vehicles in the US today. Why deviate from stock? I don't remember them being maligned for there looks in the early 90s, so to me this is a sad attempt at looking like you own a Hummer with a vehicle that was desirable enough as…
There’s a reason why you these depreciate so fast, there are generally two types of people in the world 1) those who can afford a new unfarted in one and wouldn’t dare consider buying a “used” one and 2) those who if they had 90k would rather start a collection of less pretentious vehicles..
I suppose that my point is something like the trax is 1) unnecessarily tall and 2) is if anything a worse version of the car it was based on. Were the 80s Tercel and Civic rubbish? My recollection is for the era they were among the better vehicles one could buy, at least in the US..
Dreary, pedestrian, fwd, meh chassis. How does that not describe cars like the Chevy Trax and Honda HRV?
Those were all cars that had 4 wheel drive or were great offroad or both. This thing is much closer to the spiritual predecessor to something like the Chevy Trax, which is what I'm talking about.. (the Outback for instance was much longer and had a lower roof line..)
It actually was ahead of it's time.. give it some truck looking trim and 2 more doors and you have the currently popular compact suv..
Exactly this. For the same purpose I could buy an old Odyssey/Sienna, bolt a tent on top and tow a fun little manual hatch and.. have cash leftover if I'm starting with 14k..
I'm with you enough to give this an NP. Maybe I'm nuts, but I see this as a more interesting take on a smart fortwo electric with better range for the price..
I was beginning to think I was the only one who actually got what he was saying..
While I can see your point, I respectfully disagree agree because what I think would happen is that you’d have luxo minivans and cuvs, so there would be more variety than the current trend.. admittedly, some cuv models would be culled in the process, but I would argue the herd could use some thinning at this point..
The last question highlights why I always check the door tag on cars.. if it's new, it's a good way to gauge how long it's been sitting out in the sun.. I can tell you without looking that my '06 Sienna was assembled in June 2005..
Am I the only one concerned about the need for 4 air fresheners? At 9k, the horses just aren't enough for me to go there..
Exactly, it's newer and much better looking..
I sincerely hope that I'm proved wrong on this..
I was an NP. While I agree similar ages Toyos and Mazdas are more desirable, it’s still looks a lot better than 95% of nee cars today, would be more engaging and unlike some of these we’ve looked at I have some reason to believe the seller knew what he was doing on the maintenance front..
