I was intrigued by your reply and asked my good friend Google about this matter. As is often the case with definitions there are apparently two different schools of thought. Those who insist that like or as must be used to introduce a simile and those who would allow other phrases that set up an explicit comparison.

I have to say, while I really like what they are doing with Ray Palmer, I'm kinda surprised how much of his character development is being done on Arrow right now.
His naïve and slightly irreverent approach to superhero-dom in the beginning, then slowly realizing the practical challenges and stakes that come with the

I hope they'll also come up with a convenient explanation why apparently only (young) adults have been turned into metas. Why was no 4-year old fused with his Legos? (Cisco would call him Brick-A-Brat ) Would pose too much of a moral quandary, I guess. Can't put children or grandparents into an illegal supermax.

Uh, actually… it's a hyperbolic simile.

But it would never live up to our expectations. This is something that works far better in our collective imagination than whatever picture the show could come up with.
Sometimes wanting is better than having.

OK, calling it now: Next season will feature an episode in which Mary witnesses a crime - or did she? Alternatively, misplacing some piece of evidence. But there's no body! Was it all her imagination? They have to team up, with Mary and Sherlock bonding like crazy and driving Joan nuts. But naturally, there are some

Great. Now, I know that Charles Dance cannot play every patriarch of a dysfunctional family mired by sibling rivalry and steeped in secrecy and lies - but now I will be mightily disappointed if they cast anyone else.

And you would be completely right. No idea why no one got that.

Hey, thanks for the tip! I'll be in London over Easter and will surely check this out.

I stand corrected, confused and currently searching for my fingerless gloves.

The cups were legibly labeled 'JOAN' and 'ANDREW'. (which, from my coffee shop experience, is unbelievable in itself)

Why would Raj be pissed? His inheritance just increased by a considerable amount. I would understand if he were sad though.

I would be very surprised if she wasn't working for Elena March (Gina Gershon's character). They set Watson up with a nemesis who, if I remember correctly, had mainly female accomplices, in the same episode where they introduced Andrew. It would be fitting if his murder tied back to her.

It absolutely was The Man with the Twisted Lip reimagined.
No one would believe that nowadays a beggar could make enough to maintain an upper middle class lifestyle. The debt collecter job and criminal subjects attached to it was supposed to roughly equate with the original story's husband's unbefitting 'profession'

I agree that Iris could use a girlfriend or some fellow barrista stealing from the till at Jitters (for metahuman reasons, of course), and I think you are right that she raises the expectations we have for a second lead even though her character isn't one yet.

Now that makes absolutely perfect sense! Thanks for clearing it up.

Everyone who actually knows that Felicity works with the Arrow knows about his identity. I think the main reason more people haven't figured it out is that the Felicity-Arrow connection is fairly well-kept. Once that's out, it's only a step to Oliver Queen.
Where did she work? Who had the funds? QC's technology

I'm sorry you didn't enjoy the episode that much. After not being sold on the last couple of Arrow episodes, I loved the crossover and I really hope tomorrow will follow suit.
I do agree though that parts felt rushed, especially the Eddie/task force stuff. I couldn't understand why they didn't write it as a result of

I will henceforth worship at the altar of the Speed Force and shall not question its mightiness nor its unquestioned superiority to all other forces known to earth and mankind.

Huh. I am sure I read about the force keeping the suit together. Maybe it's a pre-Crisis, post-Crisis thing.
