Danny was emotionally still not much more than 10 years old. They developed his physical skills but had no reason to develop his social skills for the outside world. He was trained to protect K'un Lun, not for normal life in New York City.

That's exactly what I liked about it. It looked like Danny and Grasshopper had the same teacher. It figures considering both grew up in Shaolin Temples. Now that I think of it, the Iron Fist comic may have borrowed some things from "Kung Fu."

Your characterization is an exaggeration. The characters in the show were not nearly as over the top as Dragonball characters.

Iron Fist predates Dragonball by 10-20 years.

It became a joke. Superman got byrned.

No one took John Byrne's Superman seriously because he couldn't survive in space nor underwater. Both Superman and Supergirl have flown into the sun. This was just lame writing to make the powerless sister seem important.
