I hope the version from 3x09 becomes a new Easter standard.

It's weird to see a Netflix show drift away from the heavily serialized format binge-watching encourages, but that's what Kimmy Schmidt has done this season. There's running jokes that cross episodes of course (so, so many) but the season lacks an overall arc that builds to something like S1's trial or S2's Kimmy's

Some particular favorites:
- The Ben Carson HUD powerpoint
- Betsy DeVos on after-school polo (maybe the most cutting and a better take on DeVos than the standard 'she's dumb')
- The collected Lighthouse Problem documents which really take advantage of the fragmented format to illustrate how Trump's idiocy filters out

I love how much effort they put into the continuity with things like The Director popping up everywhere.

We always wanted Snyder off Justice League, but not like this! And not on dry land! :(

Given the news of Universal's plans, I would like to share a story which was relayed to me by my father, from his days at a summer camp in the Adirondacks. I do not know where the story came from originally, but it is best told by two people trading off lines in the most ominous voices they can muster, with the lights

It's from this

I'll give them this: it's certainly efficient to do a dumb ripoff of the MCU, LXG, and the SCP Foundation all at once.

I like the sound of 'best reviews' since I drafted it as my critical darling while knowing nothing about it!

Saturday I watched episodes 4, 5, and 6 of Kimmy Schmidt, and Sunday I watched 7, 8, and 9. I intend to finish the season today. The unrelenting pace of the jokes is something you can't find anywhere else in current TV - Great News is fine but it apes the style of 30 Rock's humor at only about 70% of the speed.

Raw deal for Salman if so.

She acts all holier-than-thou, but she has the same number of holes as everybody else!

Let's liveblog the season finale of SNL that had the good fortune to fall on a season finale of the Trump Presidency! http://avclubcommunity.chat…

The aliens didn't see a need to simulate a reality where Trump is president because they figured we'd take care of the 'eradicating humankind' part of their plan for them in that case.

Hooray, Trial & Error got renewed! NBC really killed it with the sitcoms this season, and then the not-killing of them.

Let's just hope he doesn't beat him at instigating generational quagmires. "I'll start three wars, and have negative two exit strategies!"

She had the dirty talk sketch with Aziz, and got to trot out some of her many impressions during a few game shows. If Sasheer has stuck around this long I see no reason Melissa can't.

Lot of things apparently - the Brady Bill, the haircut on the tarmac thing, DADT, NAFTA - he had trouble selling and implementing his domestic agenda early on. No major scandals that I'm aware of though.

Fivethirtyeight's aggregate Deplorometer has been hitting new lows all week, and their comparisons of Trump to the same methodology applied to past administrations is interesting. Trump has yet to be more popular on the nth day of his Presidency than any past President on their nth day, but we're starting to reach the
