Good but no great Sexsmith
Sexsmith is the definitive music of my life. He is so under appreciated it makes me sad. That being said I feel that this album is over produced, too shiny for the battered no name folk songwriter he is.

Suprisingly awful review
Saw this at Tribeca and everyone ate it up. It is derivative but I didn't have much of a problem with it as it does a solid job of it. I have no qualms with derivative if it is done well.

I am also a fan of IM. I don't think she is leaving just cutting back. She already had a much smaller role with High on Jackson Hill than she did with Fables or Ones and Zeros. Unfortunately it hurt the output.

When you're as good as the Canadian indie scene who else are you going to cannibalize.

Anyone listening to Immaculate Machine shouldn't be suprised by Calder really working in the NP. She is easily the best part of that group, as soon as the guy takes over the group falls apart. Why their new album proves their worst.

May 4th also features LPs from Broken Social Scene and Minus the Bear while Wintersleep drops on the 18th.

Look, Mulvey's theory is pretty cool and I loved reading it. But if someone makes me sit through Riddle of the Sphinx I am going to have to crack some skulls.

Why does it seem like all the stuff I read about in Big Fan doesn't mention to sexuality in it. It seems to get passed over every time.

I fully believe that Requiem for a Dream belongs on this list. I know it is controversial and I expect to be criticized below but nothing matched that sheer, raw emotional impact Requiem packed.
