How is anything an expression of gender? When my husband orders a strawberry daquiri, some idiots call it "feminine." When I lead the conversation with outsiders when he's present, I'm "emasculating" him. When I wear lipstick, I'm a "girly girl." Are those things part of gender expression to you? Why should they be?
I guess I can see how my experience is different from that of an anorexic; I feel burdened by excessive body fat that everyone agrees is there, and an anorexic feels burdened by fat that other people can't see.
How can a person know for sure that they're suffering from gender dysphoria and not body dysmorphia? I imagine few people will admit that their perception of their own body is not in line with reality (since their perception is their reality).
