I don’t think it’s there to compete with major consoles, I think it’s something to sell to the very poor labourers of China who know that Chinese people manufacture this kind of stuff (Xbox Ones, PS4s) but wouldn’t be able to afford a real one in several decades.
No no, familiarity is fine. For the consumer, at least. Perhaps not for the people who are being ripped off. But still... if someone rips them off but does it better, that might incentivise them to do better as well.
