I don't suppose you remember the gaming industry of the 1980s. Everything was a clone of a clone of a clone. Entire arcade machines that were bootlegs, slightly changed sprites.

I don't think it's a special case, just that there will be a lot of it available all of a sudden, and they want to buy it up so they have more control of how they run the company.

I played halfway through the PSP fan-translation, thought "this is too good to not buy and play on Vita". So I bought a Vita and pre-ordered an import American Collector's Edition copy of Danganronpa.

Well I was going to suggest they release the PSP version with English text on PSN (Vita compatible), but the PS1 version would allow people to have the whole game offline on their TVs.
