You are describing my exact experience as well. Minus the 2500 hours. I didn’t play that much. But certainly a few hundred hours. Jumping back in is a tedious, confusing experience and it should be the opposite of that.

Now Kiss is going to have to write a new song: Grand Island Rock City.
I agree with you that it should be free. But they aren’t always free. As much as I don’t like that, it’s not like this is unprecedented.
I know that Ghost of Tsushima’s upgrade was at least $10. I’m pretty sure there have been others that weren’t free, but I can’t verify that.
It just seems like they could have been planning on two versions from the get-go. I don’t know. Launch it on PS4, sure. But then when the PS5 launched in the fall, make that a killer app launch title.
I would just view this as a current gen upgrade like what was done with The Witcher III, Ghost of Tsushima, Cyberpunk, etc. Not sure what’s confusing about that. What I found confusing was why this wasn’t a PS5 launch title instead of just a PS4 game to begin with.
Exactly. Frankly, I’d be happy with just a steelbook with some actually clever art and not the typical “marketing art” they put on game boxes to draw in people that don’t know what the game is.
Yay! More $20 cosmetics! Maybe Bungie can comp me one of these since they removed multiple DLC packs I paid more than $20 for and gave me nothing in return.
I was forced to buy a second controller when I got my launch bundle back in 2020. You’d be surprised how often you use a second controller. If a battery dies while playing or you forget to charge, it’s good to have a backup. Or sometimes one will just randomly get stick drift! That happened to me a week after…
I mean, my EV6 GT is pretty fun to drive. But I’m not taking it to the track. As an every day car for a regular person doing every day things, it’s a blast. “Fun to drive” and “track ready” aren’t necessarily the same thing.
Having bought two EVs in the last year, this checks out. When we went to get my wife’s Ioniq 5 last summer, the Hyundai dealer knew almost nothing about the car. Range, power, accessories, how to charge it.. he had no clue. We had done our research about the car before going, so I knew most of the nuts and bolts. But…
You’re right. That was a step too far. I apologize.
You’re right. I was out of line with that comment.
While that is certainly unfortunate, at least three of the games mentioned are meant for an age group above that of the child. So you can cross those off the list of “marketed to children”. And ultimately this goes back to personal responsibility, which is at the heart of any addiction. Nobody put a gun to your head…
I agree. I love that little touch. And I love that the game has a narrator. I’ve never played a tabletop D&D game. But I would imagine that’s what having a DM is like maybe. Cool little touches like that put the game over the edge.
I had only a very primitive knowledge about D&D stemming from the Gold Box PC games I played in the 90's and I have never played any of the previous BG games. But I’ve enjoyed this game immensely. There’s a learning curve, to be certain. There are going to be a lot of numbers and weird shit they’ll throw at you…
I decided I was going to just ignore my natural impulse to reload or Google something to make sure I got the “right” outcome and decided to just play my character based on my own instincts and whatever happens, happens. So far, so good. A few things went a way I may not have wanted them to. But I just went with it.…
I have nothing to add other than I fucking love this game and it caught me completely off guard. Just an impulse buy one evening because I kept hearing so much about it. I haven’t enjoyed a game this much in a very long time.
That game has “Free PS Plus game of the month for March 2024" written all over it. I’ll wait.
Seriously. And with such an emphasis placed on aesthetics in the game... can I at least make something look like something else I earned already? Other games do that. Why can’t Destiny? Bad enough they flushed entire planets that I literally paid actual money for and didn’t so much as give me an “oh shit.. sorry…
