Ahhh, here we go. Treatments for transition are medically necessary. They are. Agreed upon by the APA, the AMA, and plenty of others. So yeah, I’m with TEI here: you’re out of your depth, arguing against trans folks’ rights to be treated the same way as cis folks, and using that old social conservative canard that

No, but the law should not distinguish between cisgender and transgender women.

Ugh, NO! I am sick and tired of this total bullshit argument that equal* rights count as “special treatment” when you’re part of a group that has been historically denied equal rights. (See also: referring to marriage equality as “special marriage rights.”)

It’s complicated though, because if she were a straight male she wouldn’t be kept in solitary confinement, which other first world countries rightly recognize as psychological torture. If she is as psychologically damaged as you say, maybe she belongs in a psychiatric facility? The circumstances of her imprisonment

I appreciate your enthusiasm, but prisoners still retain rights. And, of course, it’s possible to point out that someone is being treated with cruelty, while still believing that they deserve to be incarcerated.

*deep breath, let it out*

I don’t have an opinion either way about her release or commutation of her sentence-there are compelling arguments on both sides of that divide-but it’s absurd to claim that her treatment has been perfectly normal and reasonable. She’s been mistreated and deprived of what would be civil rights in a civilian prison,

Are you really so dense as to try to argue that her treatment since conviction has been completely uninformed by her identity as a trans woman?

No, it’s not. -_-

I don’t feel like getting into this debate again, but since you mentioned it so directly, I just want to put it out there that nobody is arguing that she deserves a lesser sentence “just because she’s trans.”

I know this will be a controversial opinion, but Manning knew what she was doing at the time. She leaked information that endangered the lives of sources and others. Her intentions here don’t matter—she is smart, worked in intelligence, and absolutely knew this was a potential consequence of her actions.

Of course, a celibate guy schooling you on sex is about as useful as vegetarian schooling you on what meat tastes like (real meat, I mean).

The only one who was calling him Cool Pope or Chill Pope were you guys. And that was only because at least on the surface he seemed slightly less evil than the guy before him, you know, the one who was a literal member of the Hitler Youth. Not a huge bar to pass.

Um, shut up. Why shouldn’t she? Pagents generally provide large scholarships for their winners. You think it’s a good thing to discriminate against contests based on their religious beliefs?

the most unbelievable part of the whole story is that this hayseed fucknut uttered the word “nefarious”

nope. this fucknut deserves not a single iota of your pity.

America, let’s talk..

can you imagine what that’s like? Going online, making friends with all the other conspiracy nuts? Now all of his friends think he’s part of a false flag operation? That’s gotta hurt.

So over the past couple of days I’ve been visiting Infowars and I gotta tell you something.....we’re surrounded by some seriously fucked in the head fellow citizens.

He has been fleeing justice for many years, in many different jurisdictions.
