No, it's for screen readers. People with vision impairment regularly use screen reading software to navigate the web. The detailed image descriptions are read aloud. I regularly write these sorts of image descriptions, and use Jaws and other screen reader software to test our online content.

I do agree with that; it's good advice. From the story, though, at least some of the nudes were shot on DSLR on SD cards and downloaded to a private computer that wasn't online. Don't know for sure about the Lawrence photos.
