You know what else drives me fucking bonkers? The thought that women would want to go to this world where men are allowed to just randomly rape android women around you. Like, yeah, maybe lesbians enjoy the female hookers in the saloon but would they want to see those same female robots horribly raped and mutilated?

I mean...this headline is PEAK 2016. The only thing that could make it even more 2016 would be...

To paraphrase the endless commenting on Hillary’s ‘drip drip drip’ of leaked emails, we are seeing Trump’s ‘deluge deluge deluge’ of footage and quotes. Eventually he will cross every republicans’ personal line in the sand and they will have to speak up.

If you haven’t seen the excellent Rachel Weisz movie Denial, I really recommend it. It addresses this bullshit excuse head on and is so deeply relevant to this ongoing discussion about shitty things racist, sexist men say and do under the banner of free speech. My favorite quote:

AHHH!

I was a contestant on a couple trivia gameshows (once you do one, you get endless calls to do more) and what’s crazy about this particular segment is that your little 12-second story is carefully vetted and planned beforehand, and the host reactions are often scripted by producers too. This wasn’t a spontaneous burn;

She, Clinton, Michelle Obama, Ann Navaro and so many more during this unbelievable shitshow are really turning that ‘women are too emotional’ gender trope directly on it’s ass. Trump and his howling fleet of withered Cialis spokesmodels have embodied every menopausal, histrionic and melodramatic teen-girl cliché every

ahaha, we three would be a good book group - I just commented basically the same response.

Haha, for true! To that, I add “...or Jonathan Franzen”.

Oh my gosh, yes! I also had the same issue with Hanya Yanagihara’s A Little Life. I get why people loved it and found it so subversive but for me, it was a joyless, Sisyphean slog.

I’m at a solid 50/50 on Atwood’s work. I feel like her genius is really evident when she has the right editor, but it’s very clear when she has a lax one. Excited for Hagseed though!

Louise Erdrich! Incredible body of work, both literature and poetry, and also has done so much for Native American people throughout her whole life. Also from Minnesota, much more deserving than Ol’ Bob.

I know that she bought a tea-cup pig and then discovered that is was a scam but she kept & loved the pig even though it got really big. I gotta say, that gives me some kind of faith in her genuine care for her pets.

That’s such a good point. It’s laughable to think of any of my lesbian friends grabbing someone’s dick as a joke, let alone pulling some of the crap my gay guy friends get away with. Ugh, like talking loudly about the size of my breasts, which happens a lot but it’s so boring and embarrassing. I don’t feel threatened

C’mon, grumpypants. Tig is a lot of wonderful things but this is the first time I’ve ever thought of her as ‘cute’. Imagining her cooing over her babies in goofy costumes is adorable, and a contrast to her typically deadpan comedy style. That’s what makes this noteworthy and heartwarming.

You have to copy the image link address, not just the image itself. It wont show up without the .jpg or .gif on the end.

Apparently she said it in a ‘intimidating’ tone and shook her hand ‘forcefully’. You know. Because having a strong handshake and confident voice are inherently threatening if you don’t have a penis.

Selina Meyer gets it.

Men do this. All kinds of men. A couple years ago I was dancing with a ‘friend’ who is very gay. All of the sudden, he reached his hand under my skirt, into my underpants, felt a tampon string and pulled.

I’ve been waiting for this to happen!! I hope she gets all the support she needs and that she also follows him to his gym and makes light locker-room talk about grabbing dicks.
