I think there’s always the possibility that everything we’ve been told so far is wrong. You have the same policy in a lot of organisations that work with children, especially ones without criminal checks. Heck, if you manage a team sport on the weekend, it is made very clear that you do not touch the children in any way and you are not alone with them.

What would you prefer? A few kids crying and not getting a hug or the wrong sort of people working in an organisation full of the ‘wrong sort of people’ with unfettered access to kids without parents and no policy in place restricting them from touching?
