Some really good points! Nick's clearly been not saying anything for a while about Waterford. He knows what's going on but he's kept silent so far.
I wonder if you're right and it's because he cares about June that he might eventually bring down Waterford. That's an interesting point - are you a "good guy" if you

Hmm that's a really good point about not focusing on Moira more. I had initally thought that was a mistake but you're right it was a catalyst for June to yell at Nick and then maybe he'll do something, like the end of the book? Who knows, I'm curious where they will go in the last two episodes though!

I just read the book in between last episode and this one and I agree - I am really keen to see June's mother in the show! I hope we get to!

What you just described is pretty much how I feel it would have happened. I think the scene where they are discussing the handmaid idea and Nick is overhearing it definitely would have been a wtf moment for him. Like, "this is worse than I thought" but I can't get out now.

Agreed. A Moira flashback episode would have been awesome!

Yeah I agree that poor woman with that guy in the elevator. I felt sick seeing that too.

In the week between The Other Side and this episode I read the book. And I'm actually really glad I read it before seeing this because then I already had the image of Jezebel's in my head from the book. I thought it was more powerful in the book. Even June's dress.. I prefered the book version when it was that hideous

Well said!

Yeah that marketing scheme for the ceremony creeped me out. But it was a nice bit of history for us to be able to see what it was like in the early Gilead days. I guess they didn't have the ceremony right from the beginning then like I assumed they had. That hotel room scene was horrible how he's clearly pretending

"to go from cute and charming to gut wrenchingly despicable on a dime."
EXACTLY. He's excellent at that.

Yeah that scene with the 'breakup' was wonderfully done by Elisabeth Moss. Wow.
And now I'm curious about the Americans since multiple people have mentioned that on here in recent weeks. I've never watched it.

I thought the same thing at the end of the episode about Nick having more power than it seems since he's got all sorts of secrets he's currently holding on to for various people. Will he turn on Waterford and rat him out to the Eyes? Hmm.
And yeah Waterford gives me the creeps so much. That look he's always giving

This is a really good point about Nick having seen it all before. After reading your comment it sure does seem that things are following along a similar path as with the previous Offred. I wondered what SJ meant with that comment .Was she referring to the Commander's breaking rules with his handmaid or did she mean

Yeah that was interesting about Rita actually. I didn't expect her to be so distraught as she is so cold to June but now i'm thinking she's trying not to get attached partly because of what happened with the previous Offred.

Yes exactly! Initially I assumed he was gonna be sitting up in the car or walking with the bag or something but in the trunk it wouldn't matter would it. Weird.

Yeah I mean it definitely showed more about him which was good but it was hard for me not to laugh at how he looked like he was a kid standing there pouting after the guy told him he couldn't take the backpack. And June more clearly understood the gravity of the situation but Luke didn't seem to think about how it

to offset puncturing the feelings of being trapped like the characters in Gilead, stuck only with memories and rumors.

I agree, if Luke had been as prepared as you sound like you are things might have gone better. But I think the majority of people aren't planners and see complacent about this kind of stuff because they don't think it could ever happen. The photo albums bit pissed me off. He looked so silly standing there holding

I like your list regarding Luke. Definitely sums up why I don't really like him so far. I was hoping this epsiode would offer some other sides to him so we could see what June sees in him. Seeing him in the flashbacks being so… I can't think of the word… Didn't make me dislike him any less.
June was really the one

Yeah I liked that little bit with that guy! I panicked too thinking he was gonna turn them in. It's crazy how you can assume something so quickly about someone just bc he had a gun and seemed like he might be a Guardian type. It was neat that they turned that around and had him help them a bit. (he must have been
