Why does an athletic department get a pass that no other university program gets? If an athletic program can self-fund like LSU and a handful of other schools, they can have all men's sports if they want. But if they accept funds from the university or government, they have to accept the same guidelines as everyone

Well, on the flip side, if the schools don't want to abide by Title IX, they're free to start paying taxes.

You're so right. It's so hard being a male athlete who "deserves" a scholarship. God, I wish there were, like, a thousand other schools for a male athlete to go who is good enough to receive a free education. I mean, Temple is such a haven for football talent...they need the program! Woman don't need sports, they need

Something about beautiful people who I know have been through terrible shit just makes me so sad. I'm not saying their appearance affects how sad it is, there's just something uniquely sad about the juxtaposition, if that makes any sense. It's a flowers-growing-on-the-side-of-the-road type thing.

I'm all for amateur sports too. NCAA major college football, however, isn't an amateur sport—it's semi-professional. It and basketball are youth leagues for the professional teams. High schools and colleges need to divest themselves of costly sports programs. This is an American thing that foreign students are always

Someone wise once said "to the privileged, equality feels like discrimination."

They aren't mere talking points, they're facts. What you have a is a bunch of muddled half-assery and sexism.

"Male athletes" are not being "punished." First of all, it's not anyone's God-given right to get an athletic scholarship. That's

Did you even read the story? Temple football is losing by far the most money at that school. I guarantee that more people identify with the men's basketball team at Temple than with their shitty football team.

The anti-Title IX arguments shown here drive me crazy. As reedjmiller has pointed out a couple of times, any Division I football program creates a huge imbalance for any school, in that the number of scholarships required for the football program exceeds the number for most schools' basketball, baseball, hockey, and

Bullshit. In addtion to the fact that its football that's losing the big money, the school could drop into a no-scholarship football level and try to save some money there, too. But no, its much easier to do this, so they can get the support of the mindless, "its all because of Title IX" crowd.

The "massacre" isn't the fault of women's sports. The massacre is due to the greed of football requiring 85 scholarships all for men. That's why baseball, etc, have suffered. If more schools would give up on football, they could fill their boots with wrestling, men's soccer, baseball, etc.

It's unjust to offer more

Christ - looking at all the billboards they were buying up in Philly last year, I just remember thinking, "who could possibly think anyone would care this much about Temple football? And then spend this much coin on it? WTF, TU AD?" Every billboard should read, "paid for by eliminating TU baseball," etc.

Yes, because its the Temple Women's Football team which is losing money hand over fist.

If he did roids and it made his head that size/shape, he's been doing them consistently since the late-80s when he was at Auburn, because thats what he looked like then.

I dont think I am going too far with what I about to say, but....

Great story. I doubt I could ever find it, but I did at one point (and possibly still do) actually own the "Godzilla" card!

Hahaha, Rolfe. If you're such a big strong man who can make big decisions for your (1 year younger) naive girlfriend, at least wear a real pair of pants. You don't scare me, you big bad Nazi, when you're wearing knee socks.

A man who identifies as a woman. Are we going to argue about whether or not a transgender person is allowed to be identified as a woman, now? Because that's an entirely different conversation.

I couldn't disagree with you more. I actually like Rihanna. I like her music, I think she is one of the most beautiful women on the planet and I think she looks like a shit ton of fun. But… I also think that a large part of her is simply manufactured, including and not limited to her not giving any fucks.

They used to schedule multiple games in one night @ The Palestra. Fantastic old building, and a great basketball venue.
