They do need to differentiate between the 5.0 V8 and the EcoBoost models in terms of reliability. I have the V8, but know a bunch of folks with EcoBoosts that have had various engine and ECM issues.

I have the 5.0 V8 and get 18 mpg.  Not a huge difference.
