As a huge fan of videogames and their potential, I am immensely grateful for his opinion on them. His forcible statement that they are not art, later followed by "why do you want them to be art?" has caused me to think more, and harder, about the debate, about art, and about what he means by art, etc. I think if he

Correct, his rides needed both balls.
I am so so sorry.

The difference betweem how they handled Tiger Woods and Lance Armstrong couldnt be more clear.
Tiger Woods deserved his achievements. No amount of hooker diddlying can change that.

I misread this as "Fritz the Cat" and was really confused.

I remember reading an interview about that game, and how proud Ken was about how realistic the game was. Even at the age of 10, I recognized that realism sounded like a bad thing to reach for. This notion was confirmed when I played Grand Theft Auto IV.

Funny, I found it to be *exactly* like the Daily Show.

I'm so impotent

If only I knew how to use italics on this Disquis system! I'm inexorably forced into the latter category by technical limitations!

You just used up all the AVClub's Italics supply for the entire year, congratulations!

Well this is way better than his New York documentary, which I would only recommend for dads who are afraid their kids will turn out to be documentarians and want to scare them straight.

Yeah, that emergence was incredible, but was it more incredible because the into/tutorial was so unpleasant? That's a huge gamble to take- force new players to navigate a crappy, cramped underground area. That was so much no fun that I had no interest in exploring the vegas Vault in NV/

It's amazing that I love that game but its tutorial actually ended up putting me off console games for a good two years.

I agree about them leaving the kids alone all the time. That was so weird. I've been chalking up to "decisions you dont understand because no zombies"

I disagree entirely. I've been sensing Zach's growing unease with the nihilistic bent of the show, and fully expected him to disengage if something truly awful happened, since Zach seems to think that this show wallows in awful things happening.

Agreed, after his shameful maudlin 90s movies, he seemed to develop other interests. It's hard to evaluate the 00's and beyond movie roles of Spacey without considering the context of his interests and priorities, especially if you're going to suggest he isn't trying.

Really? It felt a bit conventional. Like there was all this mysterious buildup for a rehash of the silence of the lambs ending

/scrollscrollscrollscroll "Robocop!"

I prefer frothing infinitely to bitching.

But you could have waited for the third game? Is it as forgettable as everyone says?
Personally I'll miss Mark Hamill in the fourth.

Minecraft's original survival mode had a surprising amount of purpose to it. Never had I played a game where I was so careful - the utter lack of saves and complete potential demolishment of hours of hard work made me prepare and think up of countless ways to protect my ever increasing time investment. And given that
