Second for the Jeep. As Enzo said, it's the first true American sports car.

My 97 TJ was he longest as well. Bought in in 98 and kept it till 2009. Sold it and bought another Wrangler, this time an LJ, for the extra room.
Was going to add the same thing, glad I scrolled down to see you have taken care of it. Every time I see a Prowler it turns my head, then I remember the dog it has hidden under the hood.
Incredibly under prepared, naive and reckless . . . I am impressed, jealous and would love to replicate this fine endeavour.
Even if, God willing, I get the funds to buy a supercar, no way am I getting rid of my Cooper S. Too much fun to drive.
I try not to be too envious of the super wealthy, but stories like this make it too difficult. Must go back in time and pick appropriate degree field to acquire said wealth (Finance, why would I want to do that . . . I am an artist!)
I forgot about all the "death wobble" threads. The answer is always "you KNOW when you have it." good ol JEEPFORUM. (yes, I have my sticker on my windshield).
The one forum I spend the majority of time on is pretty good about answering with links to the original thread. Those posts always make me smile, but you do get the occasional SEARCH NOOB reply.
Quite frequently seen on Jeep forums.
I so want to be in that Project Car Hell. Been looking for a 65 coupe for a while now in my area.
Friend of mine is getting a 2012 Ram tomorrow morning from her boyfriend. She suspects it and think she knows the color. She said she would have to get used to red. I wanted to smack the words off her mouth via text (awesome girl, but she ain't livin' like the rest of us)
Cannot be said enough. Clive Owen nails it as The Driver. Scrolled down to make sure no one posted it before I added it.
Came here to say the same thing.
Nice Price, especially if those are real bead locks
The 7-slot grill. Timeless.
I'm an off-road guy and really had no desire to get on a track until I bought my wife her 06 Cooper S. Oh man that thing is fun to drive. I actually can't wait to watch these things. Also, wouldn't be lying if I said I have thought about trading away the LJ for a JCW.
Here's Brian Johnson's Lola from a show last week in Sarasota.
Throw away the automatic transmission and you just described my rockcrawler Wrangler. I might have to disagree with you on the sound deadening though. Not for the sound part, I took mine out, along with the carpet and put in Monsterliner, and holy crap do my feet get warm from the transmission. Makes long drives to…
Nice Price. I'm in the market for a Corvair and can attest that decent donors are hard to find, especially the second-gens. I'm looking for a 65+ project and not a turn-key, otherwise I would be all over this one.
I would love to see the remake be more along the lines of Yates' original script that McQueen was going to star in.
