You’re 100% correct. I’ve done the Dragon twice, in a Mini cooper s and a Fiat Abarth. That was plenty fast enough. The Skyway on the other hand. Some really long, sweeping corners that were just perfect. Also, Weekday mornings . . . never weekends.
There are no words left to type. I mean, this is the perfect car, even without a manual.
Meanwhile, further to the south: http://www.heraldtribune.com/news/20170124/atlanta-braves-executives-cant-wait-to-land-in-north-port-stadium
I had a N-54 with the M-sport package. I had to replace the HPFP, replaced the water pump, replace the injectors and have it Walnut blasted. It would have been in the thousands if I hadn’t done most tif it myself. These are all common problems.
I drove the Dragon several times before I started riding a few years ago and always wondered why some motorcyclists would go SOOOOOOO slow. Looking back, I understand it now. The road isn’t very forgiving if you push yourself past your capabilities in a car, much less a bike.
The want is so strong with this one. Been in love since they first showed it. Thanks for reminding me about it.
Great post, thanks for sharing.
In all honesty, I doubt I ever get on a liter bike. Something around 750 seems perfect, but I really want to ride the new Street Twin to see what it feels like. My daily is a CB450 and it does just about everything I want it to. I picked up a T500 Titan to ride while I rebuild the 450 and I got into the power band a…
Forget about cost or of it’s ‘hipster’ . . . that bike is gorgeous. There’s enough room in the world to create practical bikes, custom bikes, race bikes, and in this case, a work of art.
Time for cool Dino story!
People looking to hire social media managers, photos and designs I would be my guess . . . otherwise I’m with you.
How dare you, sir!
That is amazing. I want to do something similar with the 72 T500 Titan I just picked up. The chrome is too pitted everywhere, it’s missing blinkers, mirrors, stock airbox and the tank is a 4/10. It’s a perfect candidate to turn into a historic race bike.
Growing an audience, creating engaging content and innovating in an industry (media) severely stuck in the past pining for two-digit profit margins from print is a tall order (I’m doing some of that myself). With Lanesplitter I think you are on the right track. The posts have been engaging and the Kinja community is…
Awesome . . . thanks from another displaced Okie (Lawton, now in Florida)!
You . . . I like you. I have been CLing K100s and will get one as soon as I finish my CB. You have done exactly what I wan to do. In my research there looks like there is some work to do with the electrical to get rid go the factory speedo and the neutral start mechanism. How difficult was the wiring to sort out?
Sean, as an aside, I too work in the media (print and digital), and cannot fathom how KTM wouldn’t invite you to the press launch. I am 40 years old, been riding a couple of years, great salary and a voracious consumer of motorcycle media (I am the target demographic). And I cannot name one fucking motorcycle print…
Gawker should do a best of Quarterly like Grantland did . . . then you can say you’re print too, and have tens and tens of readers!
I hear that a lot, especially concerning exotic cars, but what exactly does diluting the brand mean? If Ducati fills a gap or niche with a product that buyers crave, they are designed well, they sell well and perform well . . . what does it matter if they are mass producing smaller bikes. I’m totally not attacking…
