It’s absolutely blackface, are you kidding?

POC lightening their skin is controversial and condemned in many places.

“isn’t it about time to take a more nuanced look..”

I used to go to public courses with my uncle from time to time.  Definitely not rich republicans.

The tall guy in your first picture is Marcus Campbell, who is 7 goddamn feet tall. The women in your second picture are Caroline Wozniacki who is 5'10" and Ana Ivanovic, who is 6'. Kristin Stewart is 5'5" and she’s standing closer to the camera but it’s shot from a low angle.

My guess is the What If format both allow for and calls for wilder premises, which would jack up the price in live action.  Wacky new-one shot only costumes, sets, locations, etc probably would be tough on the budget.

I have coworkers who dress a certain way every day.  If they dress markedly differently I know they’re going to a particular meeting with particular participants from outside the company.  These meetings are infrequent, so the dress up is always notable and the cause for a bit of conversation.

The Russos got praise for putting a better version of Doctor Strange in Infinity War than his own solo movie. Discussions like this are part of the game and I’m sure they’re fine with it.

“ I could give PLENTY of examples where I say something and it’s taken the wrong way and “words were put in my mouth”.

I don’t know where you work but my male coworkers and I have never behaved like that at any job I’ve ever had.

Yeah, okay.  We’ll see I guess.

You could say that about most of the Marvel movies.  Which is why I said, maybe it did well because it’s a Marvel movie?  And again, the actual commercials/trailers didn’t reference Endgame at all.

Did any of the trailers reference Endgame? At all?  Maybe it did well because MCU movies tend to do well?

If only Gmail gave me the option to hide/disable the stupid sidebar arrow completely, as right now its only purpose is to get in the way of my scrollbar when I get to the bottom of the screen.

It’s not the job of police to kill innocent people.

Who determines what a good, funny prank even is? My birthday is April 1. April fools gags can rot in hell as far as I’m concerned.

Why say Jagged Little Pill is bad?  It’s really good, for a certain time in  a life.  A lot of music and literature is like that.

Grammarians loved Stannis

This seems fine to me.  In the wake of the Schnatter fiasco, it’s obvious  Papa Johns needs a new advertising mascot, and they need to diversify their leadership culture, and Shaq has a long pre-existing experience with being a franchisee/restauranteur.  It’s transparent marketing but it’s always been transparent

Arena pays off so many dividends. It gets us a nice visual gag in Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey, it gets us the excellent Darmok, and one of the better jokes in Galaxy Quest.
