Me either, I’m a millennial. But I know of several (poor and mostly rural) women who do diy abortions even now. I’ve worked with clients who have disclosed, and also a coworker. The current barriers to abortion access are already creating demand for these off-the-grid abortions and I think many people would be shocked…

Yes what you said. In my former work I would frequently encounter two things: (1) “rape victims did [xyz] and that’s why this happened to them”-style victim-blaming and (2) “I’m a man who has heard women victim-blame by saying [(1)] so that means its ok and logically valid for me to say the same thing.”

I’m sorry you were in that situation. I’ve heard of women resorting to DIY abortions where I’m from too. I wish more people were aware that this still happens, but of course it’s not exactly a thing that’s easy to make public.
