@JohnMora: There's cleaning, and then there's using the michael bayifier, which is essentially what lucas did: [bayifier.com]

@odinicwanderer: You can't by default with AT&T (god knows why), but it's a trivial button to press if you use one click root (you don't have to root, just hit allow unapproved apps).

@Meshuggah: The only reason the plans are any good is because the blackberry was practically engineered to use as little data as possible, 200mb on a blackberry is (relatively) a lot because it's hard to do anything that could really push it.

@MikeSWelch: Facebook sucks on just about every non-iPhone platform (maybe wp7 as well). And I've found some nice apps for Android, it's infinitely better than what blackberry users get.

@KayKins: Only after the 6 months are over. Otherwise, you disturb growth. Besides, this is anything but a scientific experiment.

@Hoaxs.swf: It's not as bad as that iPhone incident, but Giz hasn't been the same since they started getting massive amounts of incidental visitors.

@MariMac: They shouldn't have been touched.

@Iggy: That was probably the least expensive part of the commercial.

@leGodt: They're basically ditching standalone Zunes at this point, can't say I recommend it, and I bought the HD at launch. Sad that MS chose to do that...

@Technolink: All I ever got was the Robotics Discovery Set, and the Droid Developer Kit. The Scout and Micro Scout just weren't as exciting. :(

@Amittai: Put Cyanogenmod 6 on it. You'll thank me later.

@ITLawMan: D620 and D630 share the same chassis (I even accidentally switched nametags on them once). And that's a D610 in the pic. And I think the E series looks awesome, but that's just me. #lifeofahelpdeskagent

And to think these are the same laptops my university will "generously" loan students for $30 a month.

@LeftClicker: The difference with Macs is that you usually don't have to worry about it with application installs, whereas with Windows, installing something trivial can mean a reboot. Also, Microsoft pushes patches out much more often, so the effect is amplified.

There's one in my classroom now. Are there really that many people running XP without SP3? I weep for humanity sometimes.

@MrSmoofy: Mistakes happen. Maybe it got lost in the mail. You really don't have that much of a right to complain until you've told them about it though.

@MrSmoofy: Have you seriously tried contacting them? I'm sure they'll help you out. I've even heard they'll send second readers to people that want/need them.

@ObiHaiv: To their credit, it looks like that snopes article was written in response to the original story, so it wouldn't have been there when they wrote it. There are other places to check facts, though.
