@KamWrex: I'd try some of the other Roms though, I personally love darchdroid. Plus, Cyanogenmod 6 is coming out for it, with froyo soon!

@FriedPeeps: Google should look into this, I love the stock-based rom that I'm running on my Hero. It would also be nice if they could force the handset makers into quick GPL compliance (sometimes they can drag their feet when it comes to releasing the kernel source, which hinders the development of new AOSP roms).

@bennyaltuca: "April 1, 2006", "Website by John T. Haller".

@learniiburn: Nah, it was an april fools joke someone started a while back. The Music And Film Industry Associations of America.

@Zazu_Yen: It sounds like he will. Either way, the studio is out to make a mint, so they're going to have to deal with it.

I bet it has something to do with the pricing on the iPad app. Heaven forbid we allow competition.

@Priper: Hop on Site X. It's just as good.

@I'm a PC: Well of course, I'm not telling you to go grab a new set now necessarily. But it's definitely worth looking at other options when your current set goes out.

Actually, it can't have been taken in 2001 if the undoctored picture is real, they're using the black/Zune theme on their XP install, which didn't come out until 2006. Could be the camera had the clock set wrong.

@iamjames: The INK'D headphones (and really, anything by skullcandy) are awful. If you're looking for IEMs, consult this thread: [www.head-fi.org]

@I'm a PC: There really are better options out there, even for $20. [www.head-fi.org] has a TON of reviews for IEMs, covering all price points.

@hahnchen: They're actually pretty well maintained, they have those nifty Dyson hand dryers that actually work. It's also a dry school, so there's not much of an issue with vomit.

We've got some of these in our Student Center's bathroom. They always smell awful.

@moothemagiccow: Believe me, it's all in the deals with TI and the textbook publishers/school districts. I have yet to see a school/textbook that uses anything else, even if it is cheaper/better.

Never mind this, posting the QR didn't work as planned.

Unusable is a bit of a stretch. If you do activate the lockout, loading the software back on it is trivial. Most phones do this before they're rooted/jailbroken. Some phones are harder to hack than others. This one is going to be hard, due to the security of their boot process.

@YouISee: I'm starting to think that maybe we had a particularly bad device or something (we did have some exchanged, same issues on all of them). Our entire family got them, and my dad, a 10-year blackberry user, was frustrated enough with his to ditch our contract with Verizon to switch to Sprint.

That is the single most intelligent thing I have ever heard come out of the mouths of Mike Lazaridis and Jim Balsillie.
