@YouISee: I'm sorry, the 8330 was the worst phone I ever had. Spontaneous reboots, broken answer buttons, dropped calls, interface lag. I wouldn't call it solid at all. Plus, the BIS server went down 4 times in the 8 months I did have it. Businesses only keep them around because they invested so much in the BES

@OmegaSpartan08: They never said anything about piracy, and they showed you how to back up your carts. I wouldn't say that lifehacker is condoning piracy with this article, merely promoting a more convenient way to store and play your games. Just because you can use it for piracy doesn't mean you have to.

So let me get this straight, its a piece of amazing hardware with crap software, and motorola decided to lock it out from getting anything different? I think they've forgotten the base of people who actually buys these things. Also, I'm sick of companies "customizing" android to be "different". The original Droid did

@Grant Forrest: You probably made the right choice. I got a desktop and a netbook, and while I love working at the desktop, the netbook is only good for taking notes.

Java code apparently looks like Edgar Allen Poe.

@bytemybits: I'm thinking fraud could be a big issue. It all depends on how well Toshiba's logistics were set up. That said, this is definitely still a copout.

@cec: The fact is that both were rushed to market to meet release dates, with unfixed flaws.

@dennis636223: Vista sold 20,000,000 copies in its first month. [www.microsoft.com] The early adopters buy primarily on hype and past experience, just because it sells well in the first week doesn't mean the the product isn't a piece of crap.

@miquonranger03: I haven't ever had a problem with keeping a concurrent session running with Google Apps for domains, you should be fine anyway.

@Saboth: Sega tried that with the 32x and Sega CD. It didn't work.

To be fair, Toshiba needs the registration information to verify when you bought the TV. At the same time, putting this info on the website was a dirty move.

@mruler360: It's not at all a bad concept in general, and the graphic design is really nice, but the Google branding doesn't make any sense, at all.

Batbunny?

@Fuzz: That would actually work pretty well, if they could keep the costs down.

Saw this earlier, I like the kickstand, but I think it'd be a common failure point for the phone as a whole, as well as wasted space in the internals (can't really put anything there besides a button with the rotating hinge and all). Also, some of the other designs this guy has come up with are a bit crazy, to say the

@infmom: This. Also, the people complaining don't seem to realize that they're still in the 30-day return window. If it's that bad, don't let Apple keep your money until they fix it.

Skype is actually pretty awful when it comes to how locked down and proprietary their platform is. I'm wishing Google would open up the API used for Gmail's video chat.

@arebelyankee: It is heavily reliant on how strong your coverage in the area is as well. In a high signal area, you might lose bars, but you won't ever totally drop. Also, if you want to see the effect of the dropping bars, try pressing on the seam while running Ookla's Speedtest.net app.
