I go back to 1972 with Big Star. Fortunately, the local Memphis "underground" FM station played three cuts from #1 Record as soon as it was released and they played it quite a bit. I was a senior in high school. By the time I was ready to buy the album, probably by 1973, it seemed impossible to find, even in Memphis.
