The scene is hokey to be sure, but in its defense I think the narrative reason “it’s not your fault” works is because Sean has spent several weeks at this point building up rapport with Will. For the first time the platitude is coming from a guy he respects instead of yet another clown, which is why it hits different.

Yeah, that sounds about right.

Every day we continue to talk about the Longboarding Cranberry Dreams Guy, the closer we come to an inevitable milkshake duck where someone uncovers he bragged about fucking a dog on reddit in 2011 or something, and I really want us to stop before it comes to that.

The Book of Names is a cipher that can be used to translate between English and the Language of Adam, which is what magic is based on.

You ever read something that you agree with, but it’s the way it’s presented is so obnoxious you want to tell the person to fuck off anyway?

Conspiracy theorists, or, the last socially acceptable way to laugh at the mentally ill.

He mentioned that the book was shoved into his hand by a man with a robotic arm. Either he was baffled by modern prosthetics or he went to the Future Future.

I’m not gonna be all twitter-dramatic about how I CAN’T EVEN about it, but seeing a door on the far end of a hallway always makes me a liiiiittle uncomfortable ever since reading The Dionaea House fifteen years ago.

So proud of my wonderful state.

Joelle and I really aren’t on the same page with this series... this episode was the best of the season for me, and yet it’s the only one so far to get less than an A grade. Opinions sure are weird, huh?

Isn’t it though? Sure, if you asked a rando on the street to name the first anime they think of off the top of their head, it probably wouldn’t be Sailor Moon, but name three? After Pokemon and Dragonball, what else would come next?
