The reason why nobody will throw money at infrastructure for hydrogen is that it would never, ever, ever yield returns. You’d be building very, very expensive stations that require high pressure hydrogen containment systems to avoid going hindenburg for vehicles that nobody owns or drives outside of the two dozen

Doing it this way is fine but they’ve also been trash talking EVs for a few years now while actively pushing to keep emissions regulations looser which is why they’ve been getting a lot of flack. A lot of EV folks refuse to ever consider a Toyota again because of that, not because Toyota is late to the game with

Yeah don’t carry this much money in paper cash. Even if you’re 100% legitimate this is an idiotic way to transport money. If you’re a paranoid person who doesn’t trust FDIC insurance for some bizarre reason then put the money into gold or Bitcoin or whatever but physically carrying around your entire life savings as

They refunded the entire rental so he didn’t pay anything for his car rental, which more than financially covers a lyft ride to the airport. Honestly it’s no different than if someone hits your car, their insurance will cover repairing your car but you’re getting jack all for time and stress, that’s just how life is.

They base it on replacement value. I had a payout higher than what I paid for a Civic Si that a pickup drive slammed into, because the Civic Si depreciation rates they were using had it being worth much closer to new MSRP and I had paid under invoice for the car.

Honestly having just enough range to cruise around town or take a pass down the drag strip for fun isn’t really that big of a deal for a restomod.

This seems like the most likely scenario, but Avis really has to make this right for this guy because this is like a PR nightmare. Probably comping the entire rental and mailing back whatever stuff he left in the car would smooth this over.

People always say this kind of thing but lawyers don’t work for free and legally speaking unless he had valuables in the car he was only out the cost of a Lyft ride plus the $10 for a new EZPass transponder. They would of course have to refund him if they overcharged him for more days on the rental.

I think the issue here is really that none of their brochure numbers even the lowest ones match the door jamb. Which makes it seem suspiciously like they saw the Maverick’s payload and realized how bad it’d look marketing-wise if their $10000 more expensive truck had a worse payload and then they went and “revised”

I find it hilarious that one of the complaints is that employees are playing music and that’s too much noise when the fairgrounds normally hold...fairs that generate way more noise than someone playing their personal music. Just total nonsense.

Seems to be in the manual not to use carwashes for specifically this reason. Their website also pretty explicitly says not to use any commercial washes. https://www.velarforums.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=1033

They’re getting hit with so many emissions penalties for primarily making 800HP supercharged vehicles that weight several tons that they can’t really keep doing it profitably.

Yeah I actually think the newer GM systems are pretty intuitive. The other thing about Uconnect is that only the higher end versions are actually good, they still produce the garbage base model that doesn’t even come with carplay as well.

What it needs is to not be a $2.7 million super limited run car like it is. All these stupid ultra limited cars meant only for billionaires to throw in their 100 car garages are nonsense.

The Maverick’s price just makes the Santa Cruz DOA. Anybody who really needs more than 4000 pounds of towing capability would just buy a larger truck anyway. You can get a Maverick loaded with adaptive cruise control and the sunroof and everything for $32K while the only Santa Cruz that gets those features is $40K?

This early on in the technology we’re going to see a relatively rapid pace of innovation and improvement. Look at what ranges Tesla vehicles had 5 years ago.

Well what the Silverado has going for it is that it’ll likely charge much faster than the F150 Lightning since it has an Ultium pack in it. In the Hummer EV it supports 350kw charging so if that carries over to the Silverado it’ll be a much faster charging vehicle than the Lightning which caps out at 150kw.

Literally anything can be bypassed and it’s not hard at all to stick something heavy in the driver seat.

Not the only thing, but range and charging speeds are a big part of usability for an EV and if that stuff isn’t good then even the nicest interior won’t make it a great experience.

Spirit is good for people who really aren’t using all those extras-you’re not checking a bag, you’re just bring a small personal item, you don’t need to drink 3 sodas and 2 beers on the flight. If you do want all those extras then it’s not really going to save you very much money, but if you’re literally just going
