I own the OG Shield. It works as-advertised outside of the home and can be used with M/KB. Most high-end games can't be rendered remotely with commonly-available RDP/VPN software like Splashtop. Most show a black screen and will only accept touchscreen input.
Goes a long way to remedy those problems, for those that have GTX PCs. Can stream those titles and more to the Shield.

There are mods that have character clothing better adapt to weather conditions, which is pretty much the opposite.
