This smells oddly like actual journalism. There appears to have been some amount of research which generated genuinely original information.

Maybe I am missing something, but it sure as heck looks to me like the Dark SUV is the aggressor here and the white SUV was just caught up in it. this was not a two assholes situation.

This stands in stark contrast to how Subaru is handling some faulty welding in its new Ascents.

A few points:
1. The Kashoggi issue, if true, is pretty horrific. But Saudi Arabia has been doing pretty horrific things on a lager scale for a while, now. It would be odd if this were your breaking point.

Now the one wildcard on this list that isn’t a truck or SUV: the Subaru Impreza.

I’m wondering if it’s an issue of safety? Maybe parts are more likely to fly about if designed to open?

For what it’s worth, I used mine as a mounting location for my phone.  (Not that adding the ability to open the window would preclude this application.)

Despite others’ comments concerning the left/right orientation of you or the blog, the real issue here is just honest journalism.  The author tried to pass an opinion piece off as reporting by dragging in a wholly-unrelated celebrity quote.
