Something’s a little fishy, here. I noticed the oil fill caps on the last couple C7s that went through our dealership have had simple ‘5-30 Dexos’ on their fill caps. I thought that was unusual since most LS engines in Vettes have had ‘Mobil 1’ on their fill caps for years.

You should change the oil and filter on ANY new engine after 500-1000 miles. Chevy also says you can go up to 10,000 miles on synthetic oil on a LS/LT engine. I still change my synthetic every 4000 miles normal driving or before every track day. Cheap insurance for your engine....
