You don’t. I don’t really think road tripping is something all cars should be able to do. I think it’s very reasonable to have a car for your commute that can’t road trip, for the same reason someone might commute in a car that won’t fit their six kids.

Have you ever driven an EV around for a day? “For a city car” 87 miles will get you anywhere you need to go six times over. How big do you think cities are in CA? 40 miles will take you clear out of LA, through Hollywood and the valley, past Malibu and into Thousand Oaks.

Huh? I lived in CA for years until recently and that’s total bullshit. A 100+ mile commute is not at all representative of what most Californians deal with. A 100 mile commute in SoCal traffic would take you like five hours of driving a day. It’s bad but that’s rampant hyperbole.

My mom just bought the Focus Electric, with over 100 miles of range, and it’s a great car. People need to stop whining and go drive one. The idea you would be driving 200 miles in a day is asinine and not relevant to most Californians.

On a basic, literal level, there is something antithetical here to the original display of Till’s body. The plain and exposed fact of Till’s death in a black community space (a church) vs. that fact represented through a white artist’s hand in a $22/day admission museum in Manhattan.

As a white person I cannot assume my tears are politically productive.

I am surprised you replied to that comment, so thank you. I don’t think this is esoteric philosophy: I think it is the philosophy of how we live that we need to talk about.

These truths are not uncomfortable. “Black people are killed” is not something white people are squeamish about. White people and artists in particular familiarize themselves closely with images of black death and that needs to be examined critically.

How did you read this long explanation of why this minimizes the depth of the horror of his death, and then choose to leave this comment?

What suburbs? There isn’t an Airporter, CalTrain, BART? Reasons I don’t miss the bay.

Not sure about your “Sergio ruined Chrysler” take. The Sebring predated the sweater overlord, and the PT Cruiser was a Chrysler. I’m not sure even the T&C was immune to some pretty bleak base model equipment.

Surprise twist: frequency domain.

Every Swedish car aficionado in NorCal knows about that parts yard, assuming it’s the Pick n Pull. They usually have a fuck ton of Saabs. I’ve never bought from them but I’ve heard their stuff is pricey but usually as advertised.

The GT86 is so named as a reference and successor to the legendary AE86 Toyota Corolla Coupe.

Followed by a big “That’s sort of true! But also I can’t tell you exactly why or why not! Fuck thermodynamics!” from anyone who’s studied power cycled.

You should try reading some time

10 years and 12 DICs later: fuck you, mom.

In Minneapolis, most people drive front wheel drive cars on all seasons. They just slow down. The people who get in trouble are the ones in AWD crossovers who overcook their braking/steering. My 15 year old Saab with stability control on some shitty Nexens is just fine.
