Most kids arent in the watching Pokemon phase for enough seasons to have this out come. Nothing wrong with you watching longer but you're probably an outlier.

Unfortunately, as a kid all I got out of the repeated losses was a sense of boredom, to the point where I would stop watching for a good while once each successive League started because I already knew the outcome and following it wasn’t worth the effort, only coming back when new seasons were announced.

Part of the appeal for some children could be that Ash isn’t the best, and the show is probably trying to teach lessons about being a sore loser. Okay, fine. Part of the point of having Ash constantly lose is that it’s easy for kids to plug into the show whenever. This is Ash, a good kid, and he always loses.
