I don’t know if I signed up at a different time and have a different type of membership, but with mine I’m not automatically sent the VIP box, but the $50 just posts to my account and I can spend it on whatever I want within the website.

The first three groups I mentioned; sure. The latter two? Those are the ones I’m worried about. Dictators hold power by gaining physical control of the state through the police force and military. If Trump convinces them to stand by him rather than by US law, then we’re all fucked.
