I’m curious about this, did you talk to the villagers in your early play through? I’ve heard quite a few people talk about the controls and other aspects that they just sort of bounced off of. I really took my time with the intro and talked to as many people as possible and I felt like I had a pretty firm grasp on

Yeah, Outer Wilds is now on the very top of my list of games I wish I could totally forget and relearn all over again (along with Breath of the Wild, Portal, and a few others.) Unfortunately, it’s a game that you really can’t play again (well, I did, and beat it in under 22 minutes, if you catch my drift), but it will

There are a few puzzles in the conventional sense, though they often have a pretty unique spin. But I would say most of the game treats navigation as a puzzle, find this location, figure out how to get to this area that’s sealed off, learn how to be in the right place at the right time to see something happen.  So not

This game has revealed to me how innately committed to Paragon paths I am in general. With only a handful of exceptions, I generally try to be the nicest and most obliging player possible. Untitled Goose Game has pushed me to my limit in my attempts to get in character as the goose; I am only able to proceed by trying

To be honest, if there were any anime/manga that I’d want to get a high quality, big budget Hollywood adaptation, it would be Nausicaa, but I can understand his rejection. I do still hope that they can one day revisit it with an animated adaptation of the full manga. The Nausica film we have is great and I do enjoy

I can still remember my first days in WoW (some 14 years ago) so vividly: I rolled a dwarf hunter, and was bowled over by how large and intricate the world was. I used to have to regularly take my map out to make sure I was heading the right way to the little outpost my questgivers resided in, otherwise I would get

Chilling with the Paper Mario RPG games.

Yeah, my first Paradox game was Hearts of Iron, which you can kinda sorta get the basics of via the tutorial but always need to have the wiki open just in case. CK2, on the other hand, is an absolute beast that I could barely make 2 turns in before my kingdom was on fire. Stellaris certainly feels more open, but I’ve

I mean, if you actually hold up Warcraft against Warhammer these days, the similarities are fairly superficial: the overall story is totally different, Blizzards Orcs are pretty different from Warhammer’s Orcs, same for its humans, etc. There are comparisons, sure, but then there’s also a lot of other fantasy settings

I really don’t think one can praise the writing of this game enough. Not only is the story itself great, and it’s characters wonderfully realized through just written text, but the non-linear nature of it is really remarkable. I think they did a great job locking some juicier plot points behind the more intricate and

You won’t regret it, so far my favorite game of the year.

Wait, you mean people don’t get upset when contractors paint your walls using rollers, as opposed to the finest horse hair brushes?  I AM SHOCKED.

Technically, it’s a licensing agreement, not a takeover. And in that sense, it could be very good for startups, as it guarantees liquidity without relying solely upon sales. Now, it’s great that a developer was able to keep their promise to the community, as insignificant as that promise may be. What’s sad is that the

“I purchased a copy of DARQ to support this fine developer’s ethical business practices. Thank you for keeping your promises and taking a stand against store exclusivity. The world needs more folks like yourselves,”

I was thinking that with KSP2 announced, Squad would quietly wrap up KSP1 and move on. Then I saw on their youtube that they just announced a bunch of new hi-res texture packs for Minmus and the Mun (and I mean, these are really substantial improvements).  Sounds like they’re going nowhere.

Yeah, I’m extremely excited about this. KSP1 was a magnificent game, honestly one of the best independent and early access games to come out, and Squad deserves all the recognition for getting that off the ground and supporting it for nearly 8 years now.

Found a post from Squad on Kerbal Space Program’s official forums as well. Squad will apparently still focus on the original KSP, probably the last few end of life updates and maintenance, as well assisting Star Theory with development on the sequel.

Now playing

I’m watching the “Developer Story” trailer and it seems like Squad are involved, mainly as Producers. Looks like a new studio, Star Theory, was created to lead development.

What. The. Fuck.  I didn’t see this coming and I am desperately trying to avoid screaming at my office.  Might attract attention.

I’m pretty excited for this, I’ve dabbled with Minecraft shaders in the past and I like how they improve the atmosphere of the game. This seems to be a nice middle of the road option that doesn’t go too crazy on saturation or reflections, and leaves most of the textures still feeling like regular Minecraft, which is
