I really think each is great in their own ways. Two greasy thin patties with some salty american cheese, is glorious. Even better with a couple slices of bacon. However, I equally enjoy a classic, meaty, mid-rare pub burger.

While I agree with all this, I hope a separate post is forthcoming about something you alluded to in the 1st paragraph, which is that there are too many dumb toppings being placed on burgers.

You are correct about American cheese.

I swear by this; I will almost always choose a burger with 2 thin patties over one with 1 thick one. It’s like steak, the best part of the meat is the delicious char/sear you get on the outside. Double up your thin patties, and get more of the good stuff!
