We’re going to see how much clout Bowen has. Kate MacKinnon could have threatened to quit and Lorne might have backed down. I’m not sure Bowen can.

Is anybody watching any of these? Everyone I know got Apple to binge Ted Lasso and/or Severance, then dropped after a month.
Here’s a thought experiment: is there a single recognizable Republican politician that Bowen Yang and this writer (and many of the commenters) would be OK with seeing on SNL in 2024? Mitt Romney? Liz Cheney?
I’ve always thought that was weird. It’s one thing when you’re a nobody to do that, but once he became a recognized figure, why not change the account to his own name?
Exactly this. Trump isn’t going back on, and Biden isn’t going on. They MIGHT be able to get a Kamala Harris walk-on. Haley’s as good as they’re going to get, and they desperately want election-year buzz because of how good things were on the show in ‘08.
GaTa was good in Anyone But You.
I mean, OK, but you know they’ve already filmed most of the season, right? Even if they wanted to be more overt about it after reading this, it wouldn’t show up until Season 4.
I listened to the Scott Aukerman / Adam Scott Talking Heads podcast, and came away from it liking the Talking Heads a lot less. They were being horrible to each other pretty early in their career, and it’s amazing they lasted as long as they did.
I wonder if they threw the Barry Gibb Talk Show sketch in on Thursday or Friday after they realized that Johnson was going to struggle to carry the show. She wasn’t superb 9 years ago, and she hasn’t improved.
Obviously can’t speak for every market, but on my NBC station, the goodnights cut in around Dakota Johnson hugging Mark Cuban and ended after 5-10 seconds. I never saw Chappelle.
Agreed. Plus, Apple won’t release viewership numbers, but everyone’s best guess was that very, very few people were watching it.
TMZ, of all people, seem to have cracked the “whatever happened to Richard Simmons” case. He managed to look pretty much exactly the same from the late 1970s until the early 2010s. Then when he had a couple of injuries and started to age, he couldn’t present the same persona he had for 35 years, and withdrew into…
The man could sing the hell out of some 70s cheese.
This would be a really easy thing to check. ASCAP, BMI, and SESAC all maintain lists of songs, with their various co-writers. She had to have a publishing deal at some point because she co-wrote some of her own stuff. Unless she’s saying she’s just giving songs away and doesn’t want her name on them.
Was Josh holding Benny back? This article certainly implies it.
David Harbour’s not available until they finish shooting Stranger Things, which will be at an undetermined date in 2024. Seems perfectly reasonable that Yuen wasn’t willing to sit around until then.
Well, we’re both wrong. Battle of LA was their last original album, and it came out in 1999.
Yeah, but their last album of original music was released in 1996. They’ve been a sporadically-touring live act only this entire century.
A lot of MCU actors had back-end deals that gave them a cut of the profits. If it’s a flop, no profits to be had.
Yup. They needed to get Loki Season 2 out there, because it would have been way too expensive to recast and they’re cutting budget on Disney+ anyway, then as soon as he was convicted, they could fire him.
