I’m calling it now, for a certain subset of Gen Z, Stranger Things is going to be Star Wars. They’ll be talking about it 40 years from now. That’s how into it my kid and their junior high friends are.

If I remember correctly, Sudeikis was the last guy attached before Hamm.

Why doesn’t Steve Carell want to make us laugh anymore?

Carson used to do stuff like that all the time. I’m surprised other hosts never do. It’s a great way to boost new potential hosts and draw eyeballs in the summer.

The story about the after-after party with the sex workers is straight from Tracy Morgan’s memoir, where he says Sanz was the hardest partier and Morgan had to be called around noon the next day to come pick him up because he was still going.

I can think of the Revenge of the Nerds remake about 15 years ago, but allegedly they’d only been shooting for a couple of weeks when the plug got pulled.

To me, Idris Elba is a lot like Ewan McGregor. They both do well in mega-franchises, they’re both respected as actors (and they both do travel-website commercials), but not that many people are going to see a movie just because they’re the star.

So are you saying he... made it right?

I read somewhere else that most of the training stuff was filmed for flashbacks in a later episode, and they decided to re-edit it to the pilot when they realized they needed to “introduce” She-Hulk a bit more.

Is he also going to claim credit for Jonah Hill’s social anxiety? Was it triggered by having to hang out with Christopher Mintz-Plasse?

That Aquaman show is only three episodes (and just aired on Cartoon Network as a TV movie with all three strung together). It’s from the people who did the Thundercats reboot, and the animation is just as grotesque and ugly. But you get Thomas Lennon as Vulko, which was fun.

Anthony Hopkins was in Jimmy Eat World’s “555" video?

Because there wasn’t really a “front line” per se, Vietnam was the first war where any schmo could just show up and wander around. I know a guy who was an antiwar activist and went over there to try and convert soldiers. He said you could get on any military base with a US passport, no questions asked.

Why do you assume they bothered to tell Mark Ruffalo the lineup of a movie that won’t even shoot for two years? He’s just saying what he thinks will happen.

The Meaden and Inaba tributes show the very fine line non-family members are going to have to walk in memorializing her. Her deteriorating health largely pushed this aside in the media, but had she lived, she probably would have been going to prison, or at a minimum facing a long, heavily-publicized trial with a

Although this case brings up an interesting point. She claims to have never heard the song, but she was a kid when the song came out. Is it possible other kids at her school heard the song, and she heard THEM singing it at school? Then she unconsciously included the lyric in her hit song years later. The lawyers are

If her point is, “I’m so typecast as the girl from iCarly that we’ll never know if I could have done good work as an actress or not,” then sadly, I agree. And Miranda Cosgrove is in the same boat.

Alden Ehrenreich (Hail, Caesar!)... you’re very kind.

Barry’s great and all, but Hader seems in interviews like he’s working himself to the bone to make it, and it’s keeping him from doing fun stuff like Documentary Now. I wonder if it’s worth the stress.

Yeah, after reading this, the allegations excerpted in the memoir are very tame compared to the rumors that have been going around since the mid-’00s. Although it’s worth noting I know of at least one outlet that tried and failed to substantiate any of the really salacious rumors.
