Yeah, Ferrell did this exact same thing to Chris Kattan 20 years ago; Kattan talks about it in his book. After coming up through the Groundlings together, doing SNL, doing Night at the Roxbury, notice that Kattan has never once appeared in a single Will Ferrell movie. When Will Ferrell cuts you off, you’re cut off.

I watched a couple of episodes past Crisis, and then stopped. Are the back half of S5 and S6 worth checking out, or even just individual episodes?

Kenan said this summer he wants to do 20 seasons, which would mean two more, including this upcoming season.

I love that Alana Haim, who is 29 and presumably follows a pretty standard 2020s skin-care regimen, looks like a teenager circa 1973.

Two thoughts:

I think Holt was brought in as a future replacement for Aidy, a la when McKinnon came on as an obvious replacement for Kristen Wiig. But if Aidy isn’t leaving, you don’t really need the understudy...

Strangest thing about the All-American Rejects: they’re not actually broken up! They haven’t put out an album in 9 years, and have only managed 4 singles during that time.

Yeah, if Steve Carell has an ironclad contract that you can’t get out of, stick him on a monitor in the background doing a mea culpa once or twice during the season and otherwise pay him to do nothing.
