I'm not telling people not to do it, I'm making a case about why I think it's bad. The fact that it's once a year has nothing to do with anything, and I'm not sure why you think it does.

I don't think you have a good case about bathrooms, but that's notm my point. My point is, you have to acknowledge and accept that "fighting for LGBT rights" has moved out from under you to a place where you're not totally with it anymore. It's pretty damn mainstream among LGBT activist communities that the trans…
How on earth is it a problem to talk about how a joke (in the context of a whole career) is maybe perhaps part of a particular political message that the guy endorses, which may in turn be worthy of criticism?
I'm not sure why you're even mentioning that first part, since I haven't seen anyone demanding Maher be fired.
I'm interested in whether or not criticizing someone for being prejudiced or anti-egalitarian can ever be made without you perceiving it as an attack and thus unfair.
How is this article not just doing that?
Why do you frame it as a witch hunt?
To be fair, Davit, TMGE did brag about once having read a book about logical fallacies, so I think I can be forgiven.
Question: Seriously, what is a liberal supposed to do if they see another self-proclaimed liberal say something prejudiced? Putting aside whether you think Maher is prejudiced; in this situation, what should be done?
I… don't really see how "you can't handle the real world" and "we're going to burn ourselves out," could mean the same thing, so I'm a little skeptical, but let's give you the benefit of the doubt.
You know I just read a book about facepalms
So wait… you're against discrimination against LGBT people… except you won't stand up for what the T says is important? You can be totally against trans women in women's bathrooms, but I'm baffled by your insistence that you're totally all-in on LGBT, when you don't support something pretty basic.
Or of course we can respond to people saying "Hey that shit is sexist" (or similar) with HYPOCRITE LIBERALS ARE DEMONIZING ME because that's super helpful.
Because they want excuses to be politically incorrect and enjoy seeing someone anger Regressive Liberals.
It was the Berkeley protests that raised his profile, not being on Bill Maher's show.
I'm serious, what is this trick of implying "I dislike that" or "I morally disapprove of that" is the same as "I am not strong enough to handle that"?
What about all the dishonest ones?
My topic all along has been you, since it was your definition of "acceptable" I was interested in.
holy crap you just bragged about reading a book on logical fallacies.
But debating a troll doesn't work.
