Eh, sex scenes are almost always terrible, stupid, and pointless.

I completely agree.

She is walking like someone who said "OK, walk with confidence! walk with confidence! walk with confidence!"

Fast food employees generally have no experience, require no education and very little training. The job isn't physically demanding. The job isn't mentally taxing. The job isn't dangerous.

The only thing that stinks worse than Lizz Winstead is her twitter feed. Yuck to it.

You're being a dick for absolutely no reason, and you're making it seem as though it is impossible to emote without nudity and sex. Plenty of forms of art have managed to do so and, in almost every instance in which a mainstream, big budget, film employees sex or nudity, it does so for no other reason than to show

Valid criticism. I can understand that need for some sex or nudity, but the occasions in which those things are REALLY needed are few and far between. In almost every instance, things would be fine without graphic sex or naked boobies.

The need for graphic sex or nudity to develop a character is so rare, though. They're almost never needed when employed.

This might not be entirely on topic, but why would Batman and Superman be versus? Aren't they on the same side and in the same League?

Because maybe it's about Him and his longing for Her?

I buy your final point, but I don't see why Mad Men would have any difficulty conveying any of the sex scenes you're describing. Remember, they did have gay male characters come really close on an occasion or two, and they also showed Joan shutting down the advances of another woman.

Sure, and again, let me add - I'll watch and enjoy them all. I'm a huge cinephile. My problem isn't really with those sex and nude scenes that further a plot. It's with those that serve absolutely no purpose other than to see some tits and hear some moaning.

Ever see In A Lonely Place? There's a very ironic scene in which Humphrey Bogart talks about how frequently books, plays and movies miss on love scenes - he says that too often there's just two people running around constantly saying that they "love" each other, and that such contrivances weren't needed between he

I totally agree. It's like a comedian saying "fuck" - sometimes it makes a lot of sense and is the perfect word. Other times it's just a crutch to get an easy laugh.

You're doing nothing but turning my argument into something it never was and ripping it to shreds.

So, you're saying that you've never seen a nude scene and thought "what was the point of that?"

Haha, joking about being super inactive and unhealthy is funny.

Nope, because the NFL makes one helluva lot of money exploiting it.

Oh, I really want to make it clear - I don't have a problem with ANYTHING a director, actor, musician, comedian, painter, etc., etc., wants to do. In my opinion, everything is fair game. I just don't prefer the way MOST Hollywood films basically exploit sex and nudity.

I'm fine with that, but the "its part of life" comment holds no water. So is taking a shit. Do you want to watch people take shits in movies if the act of taking a shit doesn't further the plot?
