Yep. I believe so that us enthusiast should do our damndest tosupport the option. However if you don’t fit or really don’t like it, then don’t throw out the car because of an option you don’t have to get. But I get tiredof people going “EEEEEHHHHHHHHH THE SEAT IS UNCOMFORTABLE!!!!! ITS SO BAAAAAAAAAD!!!!!” when they

It’s less a genuine performance trim and more like they just made a more powerful engine option. It’s not necessarily bad per-se, but it’s not in the spirit of what a hot hatch should be about. The fact that the base Veloster is rather “meh” to drive doesn’t help.

Drive them both. They may look similar on paper, but FiST is a much more cohesive package. Veloster doesn’t even feel like it’s competing for the same market.

The Recaros in the FiST feel like the seats in a Porsche GT3 or like the Sparcos in my track car. That little jolt of happy sense memory every time I get in my daily driver would easily be worth the extra $20/month or whatever.

Did you end up on the Hertz Rental configurator?

Hey thanks a lot Captain Kill-Joy :-P

Exactly. A car this bonkers should be available in bright yellow.

Would still consider $50k Focus RS

The Golf R is a $40K Golf
The STI is a $40K Impreza
The EVO is a $40K Lancer
The M3 is a $80K 3-series (which starts at barely over $30K)
The Z28 is a $75K Camaro (which starts at $27K)

I agree, where’d that nutty Ultimate Green, go?

I’d just get it in black and leave the rest as-is. Then I’d add this:

Maybe not to the letter, but we understand that you’re practical, and that the family was sitting right there. Blink 3 times if you need to be rescued.

Son of a... I really wanted one in yellow with that stripe. Damn that looks good.

track car. Listen to the exhaust if you want entertainment.

Never been much of a Mustang guy, but I’d think it’s a bit more stout than ‘piss for tourists.’ Maybe an IPA. I’d sooner equate Corona with a base Fiat 500: made in Mexico, and pretty weak.

Great news, now all the moron mustang drivers wont buy this.

It’s sad that this is interesting. Back in the day, performance models were OFTEN only available in a manual. RSX Type-S. Neon SRT4. Mazdaspeed3. I’m sure we could have a lengthy list if everyone put their two cents in. This used to be the norm.

Here is the difference between the LS400/GS400 and the LS.

I’m fairly surprised by the number of them that I still see around. To be fair, by “around” I mean “rusting in the corner of disreputable used car lots.” There are always several for sale in local online listings, usually for a thousand bucks or less “as-is, where-is.” But every time one of those listings is for a V6
