I don’t remember drivers ed being mandatory in my home state (Florida). And you still have to pass the driving test (including a written test) no matter how old you are if you’re a first timer. Which, admittedly, is not that hard...
If your vehicle can’t pass a basic inspection it’s not a “classic.” It’s a fucking safety hazard and it doesn’t belong on the road.

As more people wait until they’re 18 to get a license and bypass the mandatory driver’s ed courses, more shit like this will happen. Drivers have gotten so much worse in the last 10 years where I live (Southern California) that I really don't enjoy driving unless it's late at night when the roads are clear.
