Not all that weird....a guy named Smokey Yunik did automotive articles for Popular Science back in the 60’s and 70’s and had designed an engine where the cylinders rotated around the pistons. The engine was shaped like a “V”.

A friend of mine had an idea for a soft drink. He showed a demo to a friend of his who I think stole the idea but made it better......

An early version of the new O/S combine parts of several other past O/S’s but it was dropped as being unusable........
