Ugh, grape jelly is exactly the right descriptor. At the time it made me think of a dead squid or something. I’d also had an internal hemorrhage, so there were a ton of huge blood clots as well. Just awful. So yeah, it was painful and scary and really sad, but also none of anyone’s fucking business.
