As a former teacher, I can pretty much guarantee his elementary school book reports went kind of like this: “This was a great book. I really liked it. Yes, but the rule they are literally citing is “shorts are acceptable in coach” and also “spandex is not allowed”. I am 100% sure that UA gate attendants are not materials scientists, so when asked to monitor the rules, they are given discretion.
