Counterpoint: my Grand Caravan gets 18 mpg and drives far worse than a Highlander. It’s also just me or my 1x kid most of the time.

That being said, loading 2x4s in the back on a rainy day in front of Home Depot gives the truck guys with open 5-foot beds weird feelings that they don’t know how to deal with.

Is this guy really promoting California’s high speed rail to no where. Where they connected the great city of Merced to Bakersfield two population mecca’s of California.

to be fair, the cali high speed rail plan was/is garbage. the train starts way out from the center of the city, takes a loop through bumfuck nowhere and required massive eminent domain grabs, buying land from speculators, environmental reviews, noise challenges etc. it also takes far too long to get from LA to SF and

Right there with you. If I wanted to live in some urban public-transit world, I would move to Manhattan. I have absolutely zero desire to even visit Manhattan, never mind live there. If I have short to medium distances to go, I will drive one of my very nice cars. If I need to go a long distance, I will do it in an

Look, can we all just kinda admit that public transport sucks?

I would argue with you, but given the state of Ca’s high speed rail project, I think you may have understated just how bad we are at it.

Here’s your daily Musk Man bad article

Feels like a new low tbh.  We went from Torch explaining differences between turn signal shapes in old VWs to an explanation for a commonly-known function of turn signals in modern vehicles.

Yeah, holy crap. Is this the level of automotive expertise and insight we should come to expect here? To me, this issue is so fucking...basic? What next, a story on wipers that move at different speeds? YOU’RE USING YOUR WIPERS WRONG PEOPLE!

You are absolutely right. Half the articles are anti-cars and fun.

As a pansy ass left winger, I must say that I am in full support of these records and am tired of the moralizing nonsense.

It wasn’t sudden - more like a slow case of AIDS. Jalop barely survives thanks to its meds, but you know the end is nigh…

I actually think there have been a few people who have switched wholly to theautopian.com after bitching on here.

I honestly don’t mind, it’s more interesting than just about every other story on the front page right now except for that crash that killed six.

Can someone remind me when Jalopnik went from a cool car site into some pansy ass left wing skinny jeans blogger failure?

It seems half the articles and posters from here hate cars or anything to do with fun.

Quite a juxtaposition between this and the article about the 6 people killed by the person who was speeding. We’re giving this new “record” attention why?

My city just installed these big metal cylinders that come out of the pavement to block off roads in its historic district for outdoor events. Put those at each end of the bridge. Let it get nice and full. Raise them up. No way out. Everybody doing dumb people shit on that bridge gets impounded, fined and or arrested.

“Everytime I read comments on facebook etc on EV’s I’m amazed how people lap up misinformation. I don’t get why.”

Focusing on ‘boomers’ is really starting to get a bit much on this site. You think they’re the problem right now? That they’re the ones pushing this kind of thing? God no - Gen X and Millennials are every bit as bad. And probably worse for at this point. I get that it’s depressing to confront the fact that it’s “our

I just read that Porsche expects future profit margins of electric vehicles to increase. All the boomer memes in the world won’t stop companies from chasing profit margins.
