The nurse said they’d pray and when that didn’t work the Doctor said it was up to God.
The nurse said they’d pray and when that didn’t work the Doctor said it was up to God.
Thankfully I am past the point of pregnancy, but I have a daughter. If some nurse told my hemorrhaging daughter she’d pray for her, she’d better pray for herself because I am coming for her.
I find this part of the original WaPo article especially interesting:
A couple things.
I thank the universe I’m going through early menopause and am not sexually active, because every one of these stories is heartbreaking and terrifying. I think of my younger friends, especially in restrictive states(hi from Maryland) and my nieces and I just can’t see this ending well. R’s don’t care what we want, and…
The article is horrifying. What are we to do, return to the days when 7 in 10of us died from childbirth and complications thereof. The cemeteries from pre- 1920 are full of women whose pregnancies killed them.
They offer “thoughts and prayers” despite being incapable of either.
By “protect life” they mean potential life that has no voice, that they can twist and spin however they want. If they actually wanted to help or protect women and other pregnant people, they’d treat them like human beings. But it’s clear they don’t believe they are human beings. Not really. Just incubators.…
Sue the doctor, sue the hospital, sue the state. Doctors have a duty to violate laws that prevent them from delivering proper care. What the fuck happened to the Hippocratic Oath and “Do No Harm,” you fucking cowards?
I don’t want to minimize any of the other big issues surrounding this, but we shouldn’t let the economic impact pass unacknowledged. A bunch of money and other resources were expended, becausecorrect and timely medical care was denied.
It’s a matter of time before a woman dies due to being denied abortion services for these situations.
ditto.

The Republican definition of ‘freedom’ is being ‘free’ to join them as allies or die as enemies.
Another sad day in my home state’s history. I and my family have lived in the Nashville area our entire life. It’s an embarrassment that our legislators have done this in the name of....DECORUM?!?!
I mean, seriously, the fact that anyone, employees or parents, thought that an unstable musician was remotely qualified to be in education is amazing to me. I hope these teachers win a lot of money and Kanye West is sued into bankruptcy. Enough of this guy.
I’m not victim blaming, because the real victims here are the children. And teachers need jobs, so I’m going to give them some leeway here.
Wait....the kids ate sushi every single day, day in/out, always? No outdoor recess....and parents shelled out $15K/yr for this? WTF?
lol at this sounded great on paper remark. It never sounded great on paper.
If you sent your kids to Kanye’s school -- if you got a job working at his school -- you got what you deserved.
